A very Merry Christmas from the Arsenal FC Blog!

It’s just a very quick one today to say a very big “Merry Christmas!” to everyone out there in the Arsenal FC Blog community.

It’s been a brilliant year for the blog if not a perfect year for the Gunners and I hope things will only get bigger and better from here.

Enjoy the time with your family and friends and hopefully the Arsenal boys can give us a late Christmas present with a win over Aston Villa on the weekend.

Kind regards,
Andy

Been away for a few days and boy the site has changed. For a second I thought I was at the wrong address :)

On the whole I like what I see. However I do think its become a bit tedious to look through the comments and one of the things I really used to like about your blog was how easy it was earlier.

  6. Andrew Weber on Thursday 24, 2009

    Thanks WhiteOx.

    Hahah re: gooner india

@ Shard – What do you mean about the comment stuff? Any input would be great – why do you think the previous layout was easier to use?

as a young lad i lived in hornsey road right outside the emerates front doors, of course they played at highbury then, but in ashburton grove the arsenal home now, i had a girlfriend, while watching a match at the ground, it occured to me that henry , van p, etc and myself have all scored in the same place, do you think mr wenger may target me in the january transfer window?

  23. aman on Thursday 24, 2009

Arsenal fc logo seems to be combination of barca and atletico madrid jersyes Kindly change it….

    MERRY CHRISTMAS ANDY……

  28. matthew on Thursday 24, 2009

Oh Lovely. Chelsea just handed us a mighty fine Christmas present by drawing 0-0 away to Birmingham. Chelsea now have 42 points after 19 games, we have 35, however with two games in hand. Merry Christmas to you all, and come on Gunners hand us the best X-mas present by thrashing Villa.

  29. theicehammer on Thursday 24, 2009

Good news for your boys. We also picked up all 3 points and out of the bottom 3. This is a massive game for you Gooners. Hopefully Wenger will pick a ballanced side. You need a professional display with no Gunhoe footy just the 3 points.

  30. georgetown gooner on Thursday 24, 2009

havent been on for a few days andy i,ve been busy thought i,d come to the wrong blog, its going to take a while to get used to the new lay out but i like it,happy new year to yourself mama fry etc and keep up the good work in 2010,i hope the boys can take 3pts tomorrow especially after chelski dropped 2 more points today.COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!!!!!! and a happy new year to all my fellow gooners.

  31. theicehammer on Thursday 24, 2009

Lots and lots of dead rubbers out there today so what mid field should wenger start with. This is the kind of game where i wish wenger had a big competitive and quick player in midfield and defence. Arsenal should not allow this opportunity to escape them for the 3 points will put them right back in the thick of things especially after Chelsea and manpo are not playing to there ususl capacity. Team Manuel
    Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Eboue
    Nasri Denilson Song Arshavin
    Diaby
    Theo Walcott
Although for me the midfield does not look strong enough. I was forced to play Diaby in the hole because he is just not a left sided player but because he can beat players he will always keep the defence on their toes. I play theo there because he needs to get on the ball more and can be used as an outlet with his pase. He will also keep the Villa defenders on their toes. Good luck Gooners.

  32. GetGunMN on Thursday 24, 2009

Cesc & Troare should be back for this game and the midfield looks darn strong to me. I have faith in Song to take care of Petrov. Walcott as a lone striker is way too much of a responsibility for a young lad without confidence at this point in time. Theo needs to come late in the game to get his fitness and build his confidence back. We need Arsha up front to hold the ball long enough to bring in our midfielders to come into the box. Villa will be very good going forward from either wings with strong center forwards. If we can handle their attack, I’m sure we will be very good going forward. The key is retaining possession to deprive their attackers the ball. A win will do two things for us. Taking into account the results this weekend, we will close on the top two teams and give us a breathing room from the pursuing pack. I’m hoping we stay focused and take care of business.

  33. darragh on Thursday 24, 2009

    Thank you birmingham!

  34. 1 loose cannon on Thursday 24, 2009

That is a bizarre Arsenal Crest you’ve got there Mr Weber. A mixture of Sunderland stripes with Barcelona colours.A big turkey. Change it mate.

  35. Andrew Weber on Thursday 24, 2009

@ 1 loose cannon – It seems you don’t like it, which is cool. Have a read of the explanation behind it though.

At the end of the day, this is the Arsenal FC Blog, not Arsenal FC and I needed something which would distinguish it from the club and the other blogs.

  36. Rocking Guns on Thursday 24, 2009

Arsenal cannot lose another point. Chelsea are still comfortable on the top of the table. Arsenal will be facing the villains who have already beaten Chelsea,Man Utd and Liverpool .But no worries my fellow Arsenal mates. Chelsea will be facing a tough match against Roy hodgson’s side who have already beaten Man Utd and Liverpool. I expect Chelsea to lose or draw their after seeing them struggle to win against lowly West Ham and Birmingham.

  37. Rocking Guns on Thursday 24, 2009

Arsenal cannot afford to lose points, Chelsea are still comfortable on the top of the table. Arsenal will be facing Martin O neil;s side who have already beaten Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool. Martin O’neil’s side are also looking forward of beating Arsenal. But no worries my fellow Arsenal mates. Chelsea will be facing Roy hodgson’s side who have already beaten Man Utd and Liverpool. I expect Chelsea to lose their after both draws with lowly West Ham and Birmingham. But Arsenal need a win against Aston Villa to confirm title challenge…

  38. Rocking Guns on Thursday 24, 2009

oops! Accidently comment two times! hahaha very clumsy of me!

  39. Rocking Guns on Thursday 24, 2009

Bobby Zamora the best striker in the premier league!

  40. Rocking Guns on Thursday 24, 2009

I am very sorry about Torres. His one of the best players in the world but his team is struggling in the premier league. I think Torres should go to Arsenal. Arsenal is a very strong team at the moment.(hehehe)

  41. Fabio Capello on Thursday 24, 2009

Theo walcott is still not my taste. His easily injured, his not ready for the world cup yet!

  42. Andrew Weber on Thursday 24, 2009

@ Rocking Guns – I think you’ll find we can drop another point and we will drop more points. We don’t need to win to confirm anything – we’re in the race and it’ll be up to the players to stay there until the end of the season. Nothing hinges on one game this early in the season.

  43. billi on Thursday 24, 2009

I agree with Torres, like him, would be nice striker for Arsenal

  44. Solomon Kebede on Thursday 24, 2009
