Arsene Wenger signs contract extension until 2014, will end career at Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has signed a contract extension until 2014 that will see him end his career as a football manager at Arsenal.

For anyone who is unsure about or disagrees with the decision of the club to hand Wenger a contract extension, I strongly encourage you to read Tony Attwood’s fantastic article on Untold Arsenal entitled “It is not about winning a trophy this year. It is about making sure Arsenal is there for my grandsons in 20 years time”.

Personally I’m delighted to know that the great man will be given the opportunity to finish his career at the club.

Hear hear. Wenger is severely underappreciated by the mass of fans who are demanding instant success.

    Wonderful…wonderful news. Thank you Arsene.
What great news this is for Arsenal.

Anyone who is a real football person will greatly appreciate what this means to Arsenal.
Arsene can choose to at any Football club in the world, this is because those who understand football as a business, appreciate his genius.
Arsenal do not have a Sugardaddy (real Chelski) to bankroll them. Nor Backers who have borrowed enough money to sink a whole country’s economy, let alone a football club (read Man.u). Arsenal have punched above their weight for so many years…thanks to Wenger.
So thanks Arsene and may you remain at Arsenal for another 14 years.

I’m fine with Arsene siging untill 2014 but I expect him to win us something (carling cup etc…) before the end of his extension, so he could get the deserved sendoff and in annals of Arsenal history. I aggree more with Arseblogger stance, anything beyond 2014 will put me at unease. Arsene is a good manager so is George Graham and credit must be given to Bruce Rioh for buying Bergkamp. George gave Arsene the infamous backfour of adams&co while Arsene extended these ‘old’ guys career.

Tony’s a nice guy but he’s not my cup of tea, for a knowledgable old man he sure likes to segregate the arsenal fans, I mean this akb or doom thing is a bit childish. For a writer he sure likes this herd/clan mentality(even bothered to write about the so called gloomers), that’s why I prefer AFCblog, no offence to any untold arsenal readers or Tony, this is just my 1 cents worth.
