Wow, that's pretty optimistic! Even though everyone hates him, Ashley Cole is a fantastic left back. It would take some serious work to dislodge him from the England team. I'm pretty sure Ashley has a job for life as England's #1 LB. If only he wasn't such a reprobate.

Does anyone know how that Luke Freeman guy is getting along in the youth set up? I heard he was meant to be 'The next Jack Wilshire'!

Clichy wouldn't move away and we wouldn't let him go but gibbs has looked awesome when he's played but not yet able to cope with the likes of ronaldo and such but in a year or two he will be knocking ca$hley out of the england team and who says arsenal have no englishmen as wilshire will be replacing gerrard and thomas will be kicking out rooney with us also having the 6+5 rule licked....

No matter what your position is this should be a reality check for everyone. Wenger is not leaving. Period. Even if you want him to. Just wont happen.

I hope he stays a very long time and whoever replaces him is from within the club to carry on his methodologies... Wenger is nothing short of a football revolutionary IMO...

Liverpool were phenomenal today. They never looked like they were struggling with Villa, it made me think of the first half when we last played them over Christmas when our goal was literally besieged for 45 minutes and we looked like we'd be trounced. Liverpool were playing like champions.

With all the points dropped by the top three this year, it makes you wonder just how different things would've been if we overcame stragglers like Hull and Stoke earlier in the season.

There were early murmurs of Clichy moving away at the end of the season in one of today's news rags. I think that's one position we wouldn't fail to find replacements for in the squad. As for Super Ade, If we'd have got £30 million for him at the start of this season I'd be laughing. No way is anyone going to pay that for him now. I hope he transforms into a beastly Drogba-esque player during his downtime (without the melodrama). Even I can run faster than him.

What a good weekend for Arsenal. Shame I was extremely busy with my work. Couldn't attend the match. It was fun to watch the highlights of the game. To watch the full game, I downloaded the T-file from Arsenal Vlog. We played a very good game of football bar Martin's goal. Conceding a goal in 20 seconds after scoring is a crime. Anyway, it didn't stop us winning the game.

First half was very exciting with both teams playing attacking game. S Taylor was a rock of a CB for them. Arshavin's run and a cracking shot was so sublime. Shame it didn't went in. We responded very well in the 2nd half. RVP, Clichy, Nasri and Diaby in particular were very impressive.

Now it looks like our fortune is changing. We are in a unbeaten run of 16 matches(8 wins, 8 draws) in the league after losing miserably against City, the team we play next game at home. Roma win is helping the players to build confidence and togetherness. We already grabbed the 4th place by march. Astonvilla are sinking unbelievably. In Europe, Villareal are a decent team with a solid backline. In their day, they can easily frustuate our young squad. But we should be happy that we are not facing red-hot Liverfool or Barca. Personally I wanted us to draw Barca for a great game of football. Villareal: I will take them. There is a great chance we will progress to CL final. With fit Cesc, Walcott and Rosicky in the team I believe we can beat United. Congratulation Fulham FC for outclassing Quintuple United. Haha... In FA Cup, Chelsea should be favorites because of Hiddink and return of Essien & Drogba. Just my opinion. Don't get me wrong I will be a happy man with FA Cup.

Few things to mention:
1. Almunia is not a great goalkeeper. His career statistics don't lie. For the first time in many years I have seen a huge improvement in his attitude. In last 3/4 months he has been fairly solid including few good saves. He used to cost us points now he is not costly anymore. He has improved a lot in handling air balls including set-pieces and corners. This season is a long way to go so we will judge him at the end of season. For me, he is still a goalie with Zero trophie in 16 years of footballing career. Anything can change...

2. One question was floating around my mind for last few days. Who will partner Cesc in the midfield when he returns to the first team? My choice is Diaby. I am saying this for the first time. When healthy and self-motivated, he is a very good midfielder. After few impressive performances in big matches, I think he should start alongside Cesc. Of course he is not a Holding midfielder to play a defensive role but he has been solid defensively. With Cesc & Diaby in the middle they have to complement each other. Diaby impressed me a lot in Rome. Denilson is Arsene's first choice. Song has also improved his passing game. Competition for places is always good. When everyone fit and available, we have depth in our squad for the first time in 4 years.

3. Arshavin can be as good as Ronaldo if surrounded by right team mates. Now we have a consistent match winner who can change a game in a blink of an eye. Goal against Blackburn and furious shot against Newcastle are glimpses of his quality. Van Persie's finishing is not upto his high standard but who cares he is making plays for his team mates. When motivated, Nasri is a better version of Hleb. Besides few defensive issues, our current team is looking very capable of winning things. When our fullbacks are asked to concentrate more on defensive duties than attacking, our defensive record has improved a lot.

3. What about Bayor's future? You know I want him to be sold. Bendtner has played considerably well in his absence. Also, we signed Arshavin and Eduardo is back again. Besides his finishing limitations, Bendtner is playing like a future superstar. Hell, he is being asked to play as a left-sided midfielder and he impressed. Eduardo is world class finisher which he has already proved with his national side and few games with Arsenal. Vela is also a speedy striker than a left midfielder. I can't see a place for Bayor' untill he starts giving a *uck. 8ok striker should offer more to the team than being a lazy cunt. Like I said, he has potential but his application is very poor.

4. Clichy was becoming one of the biggest liability for the team with poor defending and terrible crossing. Must admit he was outstanding against Newcastle. Sagna is a Monster for me. Should improve crossing ability though. Sagna has played pretty much every single game this season when available. No rest at all. That's why he is a monster.

Can't wait to see Cesc and Arshavin playing together in midfield. I will be attending City game on the 4th to see Cesc. We can't afford to lose Walcott's pace in a crucial period of the season. Rosicky; is he alive? Haven't seen him for more than a year. He was in Arsenal tv though.

Hate those international breaks. Hope players comeback with no injury setbacks.

Come.On.Gunners.

Well villa are not going to be in 5th if they keep this run up but I still want the spuds relegated.
@ sf has morgan been watching villa by any chance now? Lets hope we don't get any fresh injuries while the break is on.

I hate international break.

Great attacking lineup in the Newcastle match - Arshavin, VPersie and Bendtner all worked very well together.

United and Chelsea both losing to crap teams (he he), and Arsenal grinding out a good win. Who would have thought, hey. We are coming good at the right time of the season. Cant wait till Cesc comes back and plays along side Arshavin :)
