Patrick in London – Part 1: Visiting the Emirates

by Andrew Weber on May 1, 2010

My younger brother Panda Bear (or just Patrick, as he would now like to be known) arrived in London last week to kick off a three-month European adventure as part of the Football Nomad project.

On Thursday he visited Emirates Stadium to check it all out and pick up his tickets to the Monday night game against Blackburn. He’ll be heading up north on Monday afternoon.

Patrick sent me through some photos of his little adventure that I thought a number of international supporters would love to see, so I’ve posted them today.

Enjoy.

PS. If you’re a Gooner living in London and have a spare ticket to the Fulham game, please let me know because Patrick would love to go along. It will be his only chance to watch Arsenal play at The Emirates. Cheers!

Have your say on Patrick’s photos by leaving a comment.

Nice work Patrick. I remember the day when I first visited the Emirates (unfortunately, only made it to London post-Highbury). 2-all draw with Portsmouth, with Adebayor and Gilberto saving the match for us.

I’ll email my cousin who might have access to some tickets.

Hi patrick, on the photo of the cannons behind you can see advertising boards, thats where a large house was and i lived and grew up, the house is no longer there but the memories are alive, in the road (ashburton grove) where the ground is i had a girlfriend and it occured to me that henry, rvp, and myself have all scored in the same place. lol

Hi Pato,
I envey you badly, you have ignited my passion to visit the Emirates. Enjoy the best of it and don’t forget to share some photos from the inside of the Stadie if you succeed to secure a ticket.

Yeah alright. I’m so frickin’ jealous it is possible that I might spontaneously combust. Awesome stuff Patrick, I think you deserve a repeat of the scoreline from the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Yes, 6-2 would do it nicely…

According to the Daily Mail in England Arsene Wenger is set to make unknown £10million defender Pape Malickou Diakhate the first new signing of his Arsenal revolution. The experienced Dinamo Kiev centre-back is the Senegalese vice-captain and a player the Arsenal manager has followed for more than two years.
