Rosicky injured? + Join the Arsenal FC Blog’s Fantasy Football League

There’s very little going on this fine Thursday (apart from a rumour floating around that Tomas Rosicky is injured) so I thought I’d use today’s post to promote the Arsenal FC Blog’s Fantasy Football league that will be run via Football Media.

I’d absolutely love to get as many people in involved and as a result of playing through Football Media the prizes on offer are pretty damn good. They include Premiership matches, Arsenal kits, MP3 players, digital cameras and other cool stuff.

All you have to do to join is visit the Football Media website and follow their instructions.

Anyway, I’m off. Have yourselves a lovely day and I’ll speak to you tomorrow.

Have your say on the Arsenal FC Blog’s Fantasy Football competition by leaving a comment.

Not only are most media outlets who are picking up the Rosicky story taking it from The Sun, but the Sun has taken this from a blog, GoonerTalk, who had one commenter report he head Ian Wright ‘break the story’ on TalkShite. I doubt there is any truth to it and until a credible media outlet breaks the story, there is no story.

Yeah. I am not trying to call bloggers out because frankly most blogs have zero credibility in the real world but aren’t media outlets who claim to report THE NEWS supposed to have a higher set of standards then this? As an American, where journalist integrity is held in the highest regard, it shocks me what is accepted as kosher by English ‘Journalists’

    Absolute gobshite at the moment.

as per Bendy’s post, the only source I can find is the same GoonerTalk blog.

As a Journalist student it’s shocking to see the garbage that is produced in the UK, without any sort of credibility or at the very least a SEMI reliable source.

I won’t believe it until it emerges from AW’s mouth. “Apparently” there is a press conference scheduled for tomorrow…..Apparently the world was ending on 01/01/2000 too.

Have some compassion please – after all these poor “journalists” have three months of sports pages to fill, hours of air time on screen and radio, and no actual news to fill it with.

Inevitably they are required to create fiction or they would starve !

    And that would be unforgivable

IF Rosicky is injured then its part and parcel of his coming back from a long layoff. Lets not forget that Eduardo was also injured and not going to play for 8 weeks two days before he played for us, let me guess, the info also comes from the sun newspaper. however do not forget that if he is injured that would have happened after I posted so I guess even the most angry of negatives could have worked out that he was returning at that point.

Eduardo is back and looking to be in full fitness so yes he is a returning player, agreed? Don’t let facts get in the way of your anger though. Adebayor has gone so what, big deal. We have others and did well without him last season when he was injured.

We have players coming through that’s how football teams operate or do you think we should just be buying like Man City only to have possibly the worse pre season ever and not looking to hot for the league? Also you will have noted that in my view we need two more key players at the back and in the middle. I have made it quite clear that we need to bring in some talent so where did your ridiculous rant on potential come from? Not from me that’s for sure…

In football any thing can happen, so u cannot blame Roy. Well, i think fans want things to happen according to their own judgment, but our judgment could be right or wrong depending on our feelings and if you are not in charge of the club at that time, you cannot feel what the manager feels. Pls arsenal fans take note. Let d boss do his job and if it gets to d point where he has nothing more to offer it will show naturally, and sure he will do the right thing… leave.

I have heard peolpe say… Rosisky is finished with his latest injury, but they were the same people who blasted to the top of the mountains when he came back after 18 months. There are times when peolpe have problems in life e.g injuries and after they overcome it they come back stonger. Rosisky will play again and will he come back stronger? i am very positive he will.

anyway all i have to say is hope hes fit….am not even gonna mention how much wenger is takin the piss or whod id love to see come in because as some1 said all hes doin is goin in for players and insulting their clubs with laughable offers so that when they correctly decline it looks as if hes made an effort.the man knows the value and current market you have to be in to get quality he just has himself convinced were strong enough…if they were making groundhog day 2 hed get the lead

I searched in cz media and it doesn’t sound good, they say, that he had minor muscle problems and won’t play the next national qualifier, he wouldn’t play for six weeks and I can’t believe it, the source is really the Sun, but it’s an official statement in the cz media, he isn’t nominated for the matches on 12.08.09 nor 05.09.2009, I hate it …

With Arsene again stating that he’s ‘looking at’ one or two transfer targets one wonders what exactly is stopping him from going ahead? The Hangeland saga for instance (A Norse saga?) being the most obvious. Arsene has admitted that they’ve ‘looked at him’ but made no approach. Yet Arsenal fans have been saying all summer that he’s the perfect fit. Tall, tough, defensive with leadership qualities (he’s the Norway captain) and Prem League experienced. He’s basically got everything we need. He wouldn’t even have to move house.
Now of course he’s appeared in European competition for Fulham which means we wouldn’t be able to play him in The Chumps League (does that work for the whole season?) but that wouldn’t stop me from moving for him if i was manager. We know we’ve got the money now thanks to Ade and Kolo. Does Arsene fear Fulham will put too a high a price on him? It’s an odd one.
The clock’s ticking down. What’re you waiting for Arsene? Remember how Arshavin’s transfer was so late there was even a question mark about him being eligible to play? I’ll bet Wenger’s a good poker player!

  29. rocknrolljesus1
    August 7, 2009 at 8:57 am #

it looks like senderos, eboue, silvestre all all going with

with manu and kolo who already left we are a bit short in defence

hangeland and vieira(boss sayd vieira bid is unlikely)

if vieira won’t come then it will be one of matuidi/toulalan/bougherra

wenger sayd he is looking to sign a defensive and ofensive player

    we will see what happens

i wouldn’t sign an ofensive player…we have enought quality up front

    August 7, 2009 at 9:23 am #

Nah C-Bass has nothing to do with fish… well sort of. My first and last name start with a C and the C-Bass part is a reference to a quote from the movie Dumb and Dumber.

Was playing some Counterstrike back in the day and swapped my name to C-Bass and one of my mates blurted out “Kick his ass C-Bass!” ever since then it’s been my handle.

    Story time is over now.

No I can’t confirm it. Although reports are saying Arsenal’s press office has told Gooonertalk that Rosicky is injured but did not comment on the severity. Ian Wright seems to be the one suggesting the 5 to 6 weeks figure.

Rosicky injured again. For F sake! Frustration.

Wenger says City look like they can challenge for the top four because ‘it seems they have bought a few new good players’…..sounds funny considering he was the guy who sold him the players!

Wenger has said he would like 1 defensive player and 1 offensive player and if Sendy leaves he wil defo sign a CB. Thats news we wanted. Hangelaand seems to be who AW wants and I will be happy with that. Oddly the AW said the transfer markets hots up between 26th aug and 31 aug, especially the last 2 hours. Is he trying to say to us fans, wait til these days, because thats when I wil sign my players!

Most of the arsenal fan have become increasingly feedup in the way that arsenal are handling this transfer market. When people like us know that this current squad is not enough for the entire season. Why people in arsenal don’t understand. Come on Arsenal FC we don’t want again to fight for the fourth place we want the title fight. This current squad is more like my local FC squad as comparing to quantity. Team like AstonVilla are ready to go for W.Schineder. T.Spurs i suppose landed Basong. Liverpool have agreed for Aqualini. What arsenal is doing they are in selling process. It is all shit which is going on in arsenal. Sometime i just question my self did i made an right decision to support Arsenal FC. Because this is the only club in the world which is not at all listening to Fan at all. Feedup this is my last word.

Celtic are my fav 2nd team but at least we are not going to romania. We should do this easy as they have a new manager and the last game was a bit lucky but they can pass the ball well and hopefully that will give us the space we need to counter. It will be interesting as to the old debate if gers and celtic should join the epl.

yeah you know if ur a gunner or not but you hav to respect the guys frustration,it also shows how loyal and how passionate he is to arsenal…it appears some fans are content to go with the flow and cross their fingers for another season whilst others are being honest, and maybe a bit over the top, bout our shortcomings and our managers weaknesses….a PL season is 19 tough demanding and all different home and away is not a case of how our young players hav developed, other teams younsters and newly signed players of last season will also hav improved.alot of people tink here that other teams are gonna stay still since last year and thats y wer gonna catch them up, GET REAL. wer lacking in many areas and need at least 3 established footballers because like paul merson said the other day fabregas is still a young man and hes carrying too much pressure and he shudnt hav to..u look at liverpool selling alonso they got 30m and 2 hours later aquilani was at an airport ready to join them…can none of you see we are a joke in the transfer market?wenger admits last nite he likes hangeland but hes been cup tied for champs league for 16 days, why didnt he bid with the ade money
if moyes,o’neill, hodgson, bruce etc,had the resources wenger had theyd make a show of him

@KURUPT …First of all it is the fan who makes the club not the club is made up of fan. If you can just check out some fact than may me you can understand. Hurt feeling.
1)When was the last time arsenal won the league?
2004……Five years ago and still no improvement
Lastly i said i question my self bcz i felt hurt bcz arsenal are not doing anything and the bitter reality is that we wont win anything with this current squad very body knows that. But yeh agreed that was an harsh word against Arsenal FC. But what to do when you feel so let down by the club.

It seemed I was the only one frustrated and now its started boiling already.

Lets be real guys, we have no depth whatsoever in this team right now.

We dont have the championship stuff right now, we only have a beautiful pattern of playing football which needs to be complemented by mature players. We are lucky the boys are hungry for a trophy, so most of the motivation will be natural.

I’m very sure we’ll remain this way until January. If we didnt have ARSHAVIN, we would not even be in the Champs League. What a difference he would’ve made had he come earlier. Its just the same scenario now, do we want the league or not? If we want it, we just have to show our intent by signing quality players, else………an uncertain fourth place awaits?

Just got back from footy training with my son. Very good session. Shambogunner, very well put, you speak from the head and heart and you always maintain common sense. Always keep looking at the facts and make a decision or form an impression from that.
If ones wife keeps letting one down, one may still love her but one must come to terms with what she is doing based upon her habbits. Face the facts by admitting them to oneself. There is nothing wrong with criticizing something or someone you might love. Its called sticking your head in the sand. Arsene Wenger is the best Manager in the Prem. If he was allowed to or able to spend the sort of money allot of the teams in the prem are doing i think he would finish in the top two every year and one of the cups. But why cant he be honnest about the finances, he either has it or he does not. He can spend it or he can not. Why is he no longer perchasing the type of players that wan Arsenal the double and produced the INVINCIBLES. PASE POWER GUYLE LEADERSHIP in buckets STICKIBILITY SKILL. And they didn’t cost the earth. Why does he not admit exactally what he is doing. HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE STAND IT. IM NOT A SUPPORTER AND ITS DRIVING ME MAD BECAUSE I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE STUFF FROM 2002-2004 AGAIN. WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN, ARSENE…..ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME! Goodnight all. Remember that goal Tierry scored against the JellyTOTS. He ran from one end of the pitch to the other. Or DB finish against Newcastle! Will that ever happen again.

But on saying we wouldn’t be in the cl is a bit far fetched as sharva didn’t make villa crumble and lose 5 games or so on the trot. I would rather watch us play and win f-all especialy getting up at 5 am to watch cl games or staying awake till 2am kick offs in the prem league and watch a good game than have a boring team like chelscum with all the big names winning the odd fa cup or league by grinding out 1-0 results. That was the GG era and for one I’m happy never to go back to. We have been spoilt by arsnes great start and don’t forget ol red nose had a dry patch before the busby babes i.e. becks, scholes and nevilles came along.
@ shambo “if moyes,o’neill, hodgson, bruce etc, had the resources wenger had they’d make a show of him” How??? by getting relegated. These are managers who do not have to chase up their transfers as we need dien back pronto and thats what’s missing. None of the above managers have a brand new stadium to manage paying back and to me it seems the board are the ones that need sacking not wenger as he can’t just concetrate on the TEAM like all managers should not run the whole club.

your spot on shambo and gunnerboss we are not strong enough to maintain a title challenge unless wenger strengthens the squad before the season starts, just a thought anti neemi came out of retirement to sign for pompey today why didnt we get him as cover for almunia as fabianski isn,t ready yet as a no.2?

Every transfer window we are left fustrated! We know what we need. Everybody knows what we need yet AW takes so long to decide. It took ages to get Arshavin, and we got him in the last seconds of the whole month. This transfer period, we were happy as we signed Vermaelen early on and we were close to getting Melo. So AW was after the people we needed. Since then only rumours – some constant – Chamakh, Vieira, Hangelaand, some not – Villa, Benzema, De Rossi. AW recently said the last 5 days of the transfer period are the most busy, specially the last 2 hours. This could be when our signings are made. Ideally the quicker the better but aslong as we sign good players in the right areas, ill be happy. Deadline Day should be exciting just hope its not like last year and I sit at the computer all day and find out we bought nobody.

do you honestly believe when arsenal fc made the decision to move to a new stadium they decided they would not make any big signings or strenghten when required?????????????
they would not hav moved in the first place if their option to buy in the transfer market were restricted in any way…that wud just be bad look at the players wev sold compared to what wev bought in the last few iv stated before since 03 our sales/ buys leave us with 15m+ aswel as the tv,CL and PL income
my point about the managers iv mentioned is valid as they act swifter and their is a mutual understanding between them and their fans whereas i (and many others) hav been left scratchin my head at our inactivity and our managers refusal to put our minds at ease with dialogue, we just get told that he believes in this team…..this thing of putting the money away for the coming years is bol*$cks as we wont be generatin the cash from CL if wer not in it next year+
and it wud not be a ‘gamble’ to go sign de rossi and haangeland for their clubs askin price and for once just do business straight uo instead of tryin to be cleverer than the club wer dealin with and havin a big saga as per usual
overall would it not just be easier for wenger to come out and say ‘we need 2/3 players and are in the market’, hes not mentionin any names or tapping up but he would at least let us know that hes identified our weaknesses and he is serious bout the season ahead.why cant he do this??????
