It’s  a ridiculously short Arsenal vs Hull preview today because I’m off on a road-trip to the New South Wales hinterland to enjoy a weekend of (near) isolation. Here goes: Cesc Fabregas’ injury is not as bad as expected. It looks like a maximum 10-day injury and that means he could well be available for [...]

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Liverpool to win the 1989 English Championship. On that night 20 years ago, Michael Thomas rushed forward in injury time to lift home the second goal of the game and etch Arsenal’s name into the history books as winners of perhaps the most dramatic English [...]

Hello there and a happy, happy Friday to all of you. If you’re anything like what I am today – still glowing as a result of Arsenal’s performance on Wednesday night – then you’ll surely be reading this post with a big smile on your face. Nice one. It’s essentially a three-part post today as [...]

It’s the second leg of the Villarreal game tonight and what a contest it looks to be. It’s doubtful we’ll see anything quite like the 4-4 draw between Chelsea and Liverpool last night but there should certainly be some good attacking football on display. And even if there isn’t, I won’t really care if Arsene [...]

It’s a rather tired post today – a result of two early mornings of sleepy Champions League viewing.  * yawns * Thank goodness there were some good games though. Indeed, just when I thought Manchester United’s result was a surprise, up popped Chelsea to stick a dagger (well, three actually) into Liverpool at Anfield. Brilliant [...]

Emmanuel Adebayor may not be everyone’s cup of tea but he produced a moment of real craft and quality to put us within touching distance of the Champions League semi-final. With just over 20 minutes to go and Arsenal trailing to Marcos Senna’s early thunderbolt, Adebayor cleverly controlled a chip pass by Cesc Fabregas on [...]

Hello there blogmates – welcome to another installment of the Arsenal FC Blog. It’s Tuesday afternoon and I’m sucking down a couple of Grolsch beers before my indoor game later tonight. Football and beer, a wicked combination. I’m sure you don’t need reminding that the International Break is up on us and that means inevitably [...]

Hello and a very good day to you all. First up today I just need to apologise for the lack of a decent post yesterday – as I mentioned briefly, I’m dealing with a fairly difficult personal situation at the moment. Unfortunately it may affect my ability to blog consistently over the next week or [...]

Gather round children. I’m not even going to apologise for the lack of posts of late because it’s been happening all too often. What I will say though is that I f$%#*g hate my computer at the moment and I’m doing something to rectify that. Hopefully I will have a new one by next week [...]

What a difference a couple of days make. Arsenal are back on track after their weekend blip against Hull City, smashing four goals with no reply past a hopeless Porto side at the Emirates. Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor got two goals each as Cesc Fabregas gave a masterful midfield performance, tearing the Porto [...]

Arsenal got the point that Arsene Wenger thought they would from their trip to the Ukraine after only managing a 1-1 draw against Dynamo Kyiv. Despite dominating the first half the boys failed to score and were made to rely on another late William Gallas strike to salvage a point after Ismael Bangoura converted a [...]

Yesterday saw the Champions League group stages kick off with Chelsea and Atletico Madrid proving to be the standout performers on a good night of football. Later today will see Arsenal play their first match of the group stages, a tough away trip to the Ukraine to play a Dinamo Kiev side which defeated Spartak [...]

Arsenal have been drawn into Group G for the Champions League group stages. The other three sides are Porto, Fenerbache and Dynamo Kyiv. A pretty tough draw in my opinion – I’ll have more to say on it later.

Arsenal cruised through to the group stages of the Champions League overnight after a 4-0 demolition of FC Twente at Emirates Stadium. The goals came from Samir Nasri, William Gallas, Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner as Arsene Wenger was rewarded for making the necessary changes to the side that lost to Fulham on the weekend. [...]

Arsenal begin their season tonight in Holland with the first leg of their Champions League qualifier against FC Twente.  Unfortunately they will do so under quite a hefty injury cloud. Indeed, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal are without Abou Diaby, Samir Nasri, Kolo Toure, Philippe Senderos and Cesc Fabregas as well as long-term casualties Tomas [...]

According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, Marseille’s Samir Nasri will be an Arsenal player by the end of today. The word on the street is that Nasri will arrive in London early this morning (Wednesday) with the intention of undergoing a medical and signing on at Arsenal for a fee worth something around ₤12.5m. As I [...]
