Alex Song’s late goal against Portsmouth is up there as one of my favourite moments of the season so far.

Watch it again below (LINK):

I think it’s fitting that our most improved, consistent and reliable performer’s first goal of the season also happened to be our last of 2009.

Bravo, Song. Bravo.

Have your say on Song’s goal by leaving a comment.

Full time, 4-1 and we’re in the best position going into the New Year that we’ve been in for a long time. Personally, I couldn’t care less whether it was a bunch of babies or a bunch of OAP’s that got us there!

  2. C-Bass on Thursday 31, 2009

We’ll deserved by Song he’s been playing his heart out for us.

  3. Bikila on Thursday 31, 2009

Why wasn’t Theo in the lineup? Is he hurt again?

    Excellent performance by the squad.

  4. Bravis Trickle on Thursday 31, 2009

Fantastic man, what an improvement. It is insane watching his first matches at the club compared to this.

    Cheers, happy new year!

  5. Tiki on Thursday 31, 2009

    @Bikila: Rib injury for Walcott.

Committed performance, good too see Diaby starting to thrive. Love the “We’ve only got one Song” chants, massive props to the travelling fans, sang their hearts out, really audible and loud on the telly. Loved how Song made a heart symbol to the fans at the end of the game.

    Up the Arse!

  6. Andrew Weber on Thursday 31, 2009

@ Tiki – Yeah, I heard those ‘Song’ chants from the crowd as well. I love that they were singing it in the build-up to his goal. It was like he heard them, realised that he should do something special and just rushed forward!

I love Song so much. I’ll be getting an Arsenal shirt with his name on the back next year for sure!

A parting gift from Song in his last game, Arsenal played like units all clicked together…. wonderful to watch Diaby-Traore covering each other While Sagna-Nasri on right doing same…Then Ramsey-Song- linking them forward to Arshavin-Eduardo. And all closed down spaces to make work for defence much easier.

I think these is future of football, Also funny things to watch was Arsenal fans seem to know when goal is coming they al

Song is amazing..the guy is arsenal and arsenal through.Good thing with these boys, they have grown up together, so theres that bond.People have written them off several times, called them all sorts of names…But we shall prevail…2010 is our year!!

  9. Evo In Oz on Thursday 31, 2009

beautiful goal, good patience by the team and great vision by Song to move back to the far post and then signal Nasri to put the ball up for him!

    Well done!

  10. Carlos on Thursday 31, 2009

Just tells us a lesson to stop slating our players when they are not doing well. Some of the insults thrown towards Song and Diaby’s way when they weren’t doing well simply show that Wenger knows much more than all of us fans combined. Well done to the Boys and sure …..there is only one Song.

  11. shambogunner on Thursday 31, 2009

team morale and unity the best iv seen in ages….fans wer excellent, song is a revelation and seems to be inspiring those around him….nasri and diaby hav really upped their games since wev lost cesc and rvp,its a throwback to the invincibles,i dont care if we dont win the league, for me,the players are now startin to fulfill their potential and hav real pride in the shirt…no coincidence its happened since AW questioned their commitment at anfield…
wel done deni, diaby and song over the xmas period…outstanding.
wel played aaron ramsey toni, dynamic and box to box…great display

Hello guys, there is an article which was in the times in the summer which am looking for…this american journalist was predicting arsenal to win the premier league trophy 2009-2010, he gave his reasons, and also said that he had been slated by his fellow professionals for making such a bold statement

If anyone remembers and has the article please get back to me….thanks

One negative … Our little Russian has a Bergkamp like vision and touch – but his work rate is well below par… is he lazy or overweight and unfit?
With him playing behind a strong and robust Striker in the mould of our departed – Mr. Adebayor… he would set up a multiplicity of chances and opportunities – he is not a striker and is wasted in that position.

  29. alexsong4eva on Thursday 31, 2009
